Day 9 Victory lap of Galapagos and transit to Salinas for R & R

Our tenth and last island is North Seymour Island.  An early morning walk-around to see more blue-footed boobies, frigate birds, (two were mating), fork-tailed seagulls, iguanas and sea lions.  Nothing really new, but just great to see these amazing animals so close and so active.  After breakfast we headed into Baltra Island for the bus ride to the airport.

Their feet are VERY blue, and as they get close to mating time, they turner bluer.

Our daily whiteboard telling us about our activities.

Our crew.  They dressed in their dress whites two times.  Once to welcome us,
and to wish us farewell.  Otherwise, teeshirts and flip flops.  A class-crew though
Roberto on the right our guide.  The best.
A 1 hour 40 minute (600 miles) flight back to Guayaquil then another $5 taxi ride to the bus station.  This time Google Translate was very handy.  The bus station seemed bigger than the airport!  It is a bus station/mega-mall combo.  Thousands of people and hundreds of busses, all seemed in a hurry.

Fortunately, someone with a yellow vest took pity on us and took us up several floors to buy the bus tickets to Salinas.  Again, nobody speaks English here, lots of gesturing and smiles and we got our 2 hour bus ride tickets, ($4.20 each).  Nice bus, with a movie!  American and United get a clue.

We arrived in Santa Elena so the next challenge was to get from there to Salinas, we thought it was a short taxi ride, turned out to be around 30 minutes with our taxi driver talking to our Airbnb host by phone for directions.  The taxi meter said $12.  The driver would only accept $6!   Taxis of the world get a clue.

Nice condo for three days, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths AND a washing machine and shower!

Yes, he is alive, just asleep, and no, I am not touching him, that is not allowed.
