Traveling to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands

March 6-29 will find us in South America.  This is a trip we have been talking about for some time.  Gloria and Kathy decided to piggy-back two destinations into one.  The first half of our vacation we'll be sailing between the Galapagos Islands on the Golondrina Yacht.    Eight twin bunk-bed cabins, just 16 of us on board.  The bathroom is en-suite with hot showers and AC.  10 islands with lots of trekking, snorkeling, and sightseeing.  Should be a good time.

The second half of our time is in Ecuador.  We are traveling with Gate 1 Tours.  We have gone with them before, they put together a nice time.  Again, lots of hiking, sightseeing, and good Ecuadorian food.  Five destinations.  We start in Guayaquil on the coast and work our way through the country to Quito in the mountains.

Fair warning: probably no WiFi on the Golondrina.  I will write as I can then upload when we get back to civilization.

  2. The wildlife of the Galapagos Islands is considered to be exceptional and spectacular indeed. These include varieties of species that, apart from this area, are not found anywhere else on the planet. Galapagos sea lions, marine iguanas, giant tortoises, Galapagos penguins and flamingos, blue-footed boobies, and so on are some examples of the special fauna. You can check out this blog to know more about this island https://www.tiptopcruises.com/2021/01/finding-the-best-galapagos-islands-vacation-package/
